This article will explain the account deletion policy for Fuego and some insight into account deletion and Card closure frequently asked questions covering what this means for Fuego App account and Fuego Visa® Card Account holders and Fuego Paycard holders.
Fuego App account versus Fuego Cardholder
The Fuego App account controls your access to the Fuego App. From within the app you can have access to various services such as On Demand Pay and/or the Fuego Prepaid Card or Fuego Paycard. However, the Fuego App account and Fuego Cards are actually separate:
- If you are a Fuego Cardholder and choose to close either of your Fuego Cards only you will still be able to log in to the Fuego App using your username and password
- If you choose to request to delete your Fuego App account only, and are a Fuego Cardholder, your Fuego Card will still be active unless you also request to close your Card.

- How do I delete my Fuego App account?
If you want to delete your Fuego App account you will need to call us, in person, toll-free on 1-855-715-8518 between the hours of 8am - 6pm Eastern, Mon - Fri excluding public holidays. You will be asked to verify your identity and the reason for requesting your account to be deleted.
Please Note: Remember, a request to delete your Fuego app account will not mean, if you are a Fuego Cardholder, that the Card Account will also be closed.
- What does account deletion mean?
When we receive a request to delete your Fuego app account we will delete your app account within the 45 days required by the CCPA (the California Consumer Privacy Account). This action will prevent you from being able to access the Fuego app using the username and password associated with your account. There may be an extension of up to 90 days, if it is required to support the recovery of any funds that are due on the account. If that should occur, we will notify you.
- What happens to my data?
After we delete your Fuego app account it is still necessary for us to retain some data in order to comply with legal obligations. We will only retain data that is absolutely necessary for us to be able to manage our business security practices. The data that is not required to be deleted under the CCPA is data that is:
- Required to complete your transaction, provide a reasonably anticipated product or service, or for certain warranty and product recall purposes
- To comply with legal obligations, exercise legal claims or rights, or defend legal claim
- What happens to my On Demand Pay?
If you are an earned wage access or tip pay out user and have transactions on your account during an open pay period, we will need to wait until that pay period has been closed and any owed repayment has been settled by your Employer before we can delete your account. When your account is deleted you will no longer have access to any draw history or tip pay out information within the Fuego app
- What happens to my Direct Deposit?
If you are a Fuego Cardholder your direct deposit settings with your employer won't be impacted by deleting your Fuego App account. You will need to contact your Employer if you want to change the payment method for your pay.
If you are a Fuego Cardholder and have your pay set up for Direct Deposit, if you close your Fuego Card Account and don't change your payment method with your Employer then your next scheduled pay will fail.
- What happens to any funds in my Financial Goal Account?
Before requesting to delete your Fuego App account you should move funds from your Financial Goal Account back into your Fuego Prepaid Card account.
If you are a Fuego Prepaid Cardholder and you have set up a Financial Goal account these funds can only be managed within the Fuego App.
- Can I re-enable my Fuego app account later if I change my mind?
Within 30 calendar days of receiving confirmation that your Fuego App account has been deleted you will be able to re-open your account by contacting us toll-free on 1-855-715-8518
If you later change your mind about using the Fuego Service you will need to create a new Account through the Fuego App. You will not have any access to On Demand Pay historical data from your previous profile
- Is there any other way to delete my Fuego App Account?
